About This Role:

We're seeking an exceptional Applied Researcher II to join our AI Foundations team at Capital One. As a member of this team, you'll play a critical role in developing and deploying AI-powered products that revolutionize how customers interact with their money.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product managers to design and deliver AI-powered products that drive business impact.
  • Design and Implement AI Solutions: Leverage a broad stack of technologies, including PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, HuggingFace, and Lightning, to develop and deploy AI models that drive business value.
  • Conduct High-Impact Research: Engage in applied research to stay current on the latest AI developments and push the boundaries of what's possible with AI.
  • Communicate Complex Ideas: Translate technical concepts into business language to drive stakeholder alignment and decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Degree: Currently pursuing or holds a PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Applied Research or 4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in open-source languages, experience with AI framework development, and hands-on expertise in developing AI models.
