- Respond to call lights, determine the nature of requests, and complete non-direct care tasks.
- Use tactful communication in sensitive situations, observe residents, and report unusual or abnormal behavior to charge nurses.
- Ensure resident safety and well-being, following safety guidelines and utilizing equipment properly.
- Participate in emergency drills and in-service training, and assist in evacuations.
- Follow Universal Safety Precautions to protect oneself, residents, and staff members.
- Rinse soiled linens and use protective clothing and equipment as needed.
- Perform clerical functions, maintain regular attendance, and promote positive public relations.
- Understand and adhere to 'Residents Rights' guidelines and ensure resident safety.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Good standing on the Nursing Assistant Registry in Texas and the Nurse Aide Misconduct Registry
- Ability to understand, remember, and carry out verbal and written instructions in English
- Ability to clearly communicate with residents
- Ability to complete assignments with constant interruptions
- CPR certification (preferred)
