Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Gildan Activewear. As a key member of our Sales, Marketing, and Distribution Team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance operations, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements of equipment and machinery
  • Conduct intermediate-level troubleshooting procedures to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
  • Install, uninstall, repair, and service warehouse conveyors, machinery, and equipment
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to perform maintenance tasks
  • Draw from technical support sites, customer contacts, and internet resources to aid in equipment repair
  • Perform standard maintenance of HVAC systems and components
  • Operate hand and power tools to complete general carpentry tasks
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on facility safety systems
  • Support company inspection and testing programs
  • Log required information in the company CMMS tracking system
  • Operate company trucks and material handling equipment
Requirements
  • High School or Technical Diploma
  • 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate to heavy physical effort
  • Significant exposure to disagreeable conditions, including hazardous elements and chemicals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to successfully pass Equipment Operator training and operate equipment under established safety guidelines
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of focus to promote a safe work environment
  • Ability to work safely from a variety of heights
  • Ability to handle tools and possess strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with conveyor systems
  • Ability to provide personal hand tools
  • Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs
