Job Summary

The Salvation Army Central Territory is seeking a highly motivated and organized FT Lead Processor to join our team in Des Moines, IA. As a key member of our warehouse operations team, you will be responsible for processing donated goods, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and well-organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort, tag, and price merchandise as instructed.
  • Track production numbers and report in the assigned system.
  • Move priced merchandise to the floor for display and stocking or to the designated shipping location in the warehouse.
  • Assist donors with donations and complete donation receipts.
  • Power sort donations into the correct bins.
  • Receive and assist with loading and unloading ARC Center Trucks.
  • Maintain clean work and storage spaces.
  • Follow all Salvation Army policies regarding the sale of merchandise.
  • Assist in keeping the floor stocked and put new merchandise out as assigned.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or currently pursuing.
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel.
  • Basic computer skills, including the use of payroll programs and the ability to learn other programs or systems adopted by the TSA ARC.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized use.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background test.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel and Working Conditions

Occasional travel to other stores or for training. The work environment for this position is a store environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. The environment may be dusty and may experience temperature fluctuations based on weather. May stand for extended periods. Full-time/Part-time position; will require weekend and evening hours.
