Rehabilitation Support Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our dynamic care team at Athena Health Care Systems. As an integral part of our team, you will play a vital role in planning, organizing, and implementing activities that promote the physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of activity programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
- Collaborate with the Director to evaluate resident needs and preferences, and to create engaging and inclusive activities that promote socialization, recreation, and personal growth.
- Document and report resident progress, including any unusual or significant findings, to the nursing department and other relevant stakeholders.
- Provide support and guidance to residents in their daily activities, encouraging independence and autonomy while promoting a sense of community and belonging.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as activity planning, resident assessment, and communication techniques.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., recreation therapy, gerontology) preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and families.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and service to our residents.
