Job Overview

Bitcoin Depot is in search of a Senior Enhanced Due Diligence Analyst to oversee a variety of compliance functions. This role primarily involves effectively managing multiple intricate data sources and utilizing advanced analytical tools to detect potentially unusual, fraudulent, or suspicious activities in accordance with BSA/AML regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Compliance Officer in executing and supporting the Company's regulatory compliance framework, which includes:
    • Bank Secrecy Act (BSA);
    • Anti-Money Laundering (AML);
    • Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and sanctions;
    • Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) / Code of Ethics.

Role Summary:

The Enhanced Due Diligence Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This includes:

  • Engaging with high-value customers to ensure their EDD reviews are conducted thoroughly.
  • Utilizing various communication methods such as email, text, and phone to maintain effective outreach.
  • Managing the EDD tracking system to keep customer statuses accurate and up-to-date.
  • Initiating and overseeing daily customer interactions.
  • Maintaining organized records and creating clear tracking systems for collaborative use.
  • Facilitating EDD processes triggered by specific dollar value thresholds.
  • Identifying and escalating any fraudulent or suspicious activities for further investigation.
  • Conducting quality control of EDD reviews as necessary.

Additional Duties:

  • Work a staggered schedule, including weekends, to support EDD initiatives.
  • Assist Compliance Team projects as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of two years of customer service experience, ideally within a cryptocurrency context.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, along with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to quickly understand complex processes and identify associated risks.
  • Proven organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial crime prevention (e.g., anti-money laundering, fraud investigations, economic sanctions).
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the financial services and cryptocurrency sectors.
  • Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
