Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fitter Welder to join our team at ASGCO Manufacturing. As a Fitter Welder, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various equipment and machinery, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our conveyor systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair welds on various items using manual arc, tungsten inert gas, and metallic inert gas processes.
  • Repair metal surfaces to ensure safe and efficient use of equipment.
  • Install various items to complete projects safely and within established time frames.
  • Maintain shop, equipment, tools, and vehicles to ensure availability and functioning.
  • Coordinate with administration and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
  • Request equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure availability.
  • Assist other trades personnel as needed to support them in completing their work activities.
  • Transport various items to ensure availability of materials at the job site.
  • Work well with limited supervision.
  • Respond to emergency situations as needed to resolve immediate safety concerns.
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Knowledge and skills to perform job using band saws, grinders, press brake, shear, drill press, chop saw, and part painting.
  • Knowledge of basic math or geometry.
  • Ability to read manuals and follow prescribed formats to inform others and solve practical problems.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Can lift up to 100lbs, bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing for long periods of time.
Working Conditions
  • Frequently exposed to regulated noise and cold working conditions.
  • May be required to work overtime on an as-needed basis.
