Medical Laboratory Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including blood counts, chemistry tests, and microbiology tests.
- Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
- Analyze and interpret laboratory results, identifying any abnormalities or discrepancies.
- Communicate laboratory results to healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable laboratory results.
Requirements
- Must be currently registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist by ASCP.
- BS in Medical Technology or Baccalaureate degree plus completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Technology program.
- Hospital laboratory experience preferred.
