The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Regional Nurse Manager or Medical Provider at Sun River Health.

Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County.

A Licensed Practical Nurse renders nursing care to patients, within unit of the Center or authorized community site, in support of medical care as directed by the medical staff and pursuant to the objectives and policies of the Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interviews and maintains patient medical record to include: nursing observation; health history to include past and present use of medication; vision/hearing tests.
  • Perform in-house labs, collect specimens for out-side labs perform quality control in accordance with organizational protocols.
  • Does health teaching as indicated by physician, diagnosis and/or inquires by patient.
  • Collect data on patients under supervision of the Registered Nurse or provider.
