Responsibilities
- Treat patients, staff, and visitors with dignity and respect, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and empathy.
- Conduct thorough patient interviews, gathering medical histories, vital signs, and other essential information, and accurately record this data in our electronic health records system.
- Share critical patient information with relevant team members to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Assist medical practitioners in conducting examinations, as needed, and provide support during procedures.
- Administer medications and injections, as prescribed by medical professionals, and maintain accurate records of these activities.
- Ensure the proper sterilization and maintenance of medical equipment, guaranteeing its optimal functionality and safety.
- Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, both in-house and through external facilities.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, such as EKGs, and schedule patients for diagnostic studies and consultations as required.
- Participate in community health initiatives and disease prevention programs, promoting wellness and education among our patient population.
- Contribute to our Quality Improvement Program, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing process improvements to elevate patient care.
- Engage in daily team huddles, fostering collaboration and open communication among staff members.
- Participate in staff development programs, enhancing your skills and knowledge to better serve our patients and colleagues.
- Manage your clinical inbox and respond promptly to appointment requests and messages.
- Ensure timely communication with patients regarding their visit summaries, appointment schedules, and any necessary follow-up care.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring they receive a copy of their visit summary and have access to necessary resources and support.
- Collaborate with the care team to identify and address any barriers to patient care, including transportation and access to primary care providers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management, contributing to the smooth operation of our medical facility.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program and one year of experience in the medical field, or completion of an approved internship program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
