Our focus is on creating products that enhance accessibility and independence, particularly in the Bitcoin sector with initiatives like Bitcoin mining and Bitkey, a self-custody Bitcoin wallet. We believe that the need for tools promoting independence extends beyond financial services, and we embrace open development principles to foster transparency and collaboration.

We are expanding our cross-functional engineering team and are in search of a mobile engineer with extensive experience in architecting Kotlin Multiplatform solutions or a strong background in Kotlin-based Android applications. Our approach blurs the lines between traditional Android and iOS teams, emphasizing a unified solution across multiple platforms. We seek an individual who can contribute to shaping our multiplatform strategy in a scalable, sustainable, and secure manner.

This position will involve significant feature development for the Bitkey self-custody wallet alongside our dedicated team of mobile and server engineers. Engaging in hands-on development is the best way to influence our architectural direction.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver essential features for a non-custodial, hardware-enabled Bitcoin wallet for a global audience.

- Collaborate with and guide a skilled group of mobile engineers to enhance our multi-platform mobile architecture, improve testing capabilities, and optimize our mobile CI infrastructure.

- Streamline our mobile release process by increasing automation and ensuring reliability.

- Partner closely with designers and product managers to develop user experiences that expand Bitkey's offerings.

- Work with a compact team of engineers across our Mobile Application (KMP, Kotlin, Swift) and Rust backend, overseeing features from conception to long-term maintenance.

Qualifications:

- Over 12 years of engineering experience with a strong emphasis on mobile development.

- Proven experience in architecting Android mobile applications, with a keen interest in Kotlin Multiplatform.

- Proficient in designing and building APIs that connect mobile applications with backend services.

- Familiarity with build tools such as Gradle.

- Experience in enhancing mobile CI infrastructure and working within small, cross-functional teams. Experience in developing 0-to-1 features is a plus.

- A passion for addressing the challenges and opportunities of building a global-first product from the ground up.

- An interest in Bitcoin and promoting financial accessibility for all.
