Qualifications Required:
  • Minimum age of 16 years.
  • Strong swimming skills.
  • Lifeguard Certification or a willingness to obtain one.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Under the guidance of the Aquatic Leader, the Aquatic Safety Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and enjoyable aquatic environment for YMCA members and participants.
  • Ensure the safety of all individuals in the pool area by being vigilant, monitoring all activities in and around the pool, and enforcing all pool regulations while being prepared to respond to emergencies.
  • Maintain current certifications and physical fitness levels.
  • Participate in endurance swims and rescue drills during required monthly training sessions.
