Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Parks Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the City of Midland, TX. As a key member of our Parks and Recreation department, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance work for our parks division, ensuring that our facilities and grounds are safe and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of parks, athletic areas, and facilities to identify and address any needed repairs or maintenance.
  • Remove Trash and Debris: Remove trash and debris from containers and ensure that our parks are clean and free of litter.
  • Operate and Maintain Equipment: Operate and maintain equipment used in daily operations, including mowers, tractors, and other gardening and maintenance tools.
  • Assist with Special Events: Assist with the setup and execution of special events and sports tournaments, ensuring that all necessary preparations are made.
  • Work Varied Schedules: Work weekends and evenings as required to ensure that our parks are well-maintained and safe for the public.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License: A valid Texas driver's license is required, and a CDL is preferred.
  • Ability to Read and Understand Work Orders: The ability to read and understand work orders and equipment manuals is essential.
  • Physical Demands: The ability to sit, stand, and transport oneself from building to building is required, as well as the ability to drive a vehicle to and from various work-sites.
