Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Father Flanagan's Boys' Home. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in providing legal support to protect our interests, assets, and properties by managing risk and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.

• Manage Complex Legal Issues: You will be responsible for managing a wide variety of complex legal and factual issues, providing specialized legal counsel to management to support and facilitate strategic objectives.
• Contract Review and Interpretation: You will review and interpret contracts, laws, and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
• Business Relationship Management: You will develop and maintain effective business relationships with management, outside counsel, and government agencies, managing outside counsel as needed.
• Compliance and Risk Management: You will review proposed business plans, policies, and practices to ensure legal and ethical compliance, identifying and prioritizing legal activities in support of business objectives.
• Dispute Resolution: You will defend and manage claims, including responding to charges, complaints, and settlement demands, negotiating appropriate resolutions.
• Employment Practices and Policies: You will evaluate employment practices, policies, and processes to assess and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.
• Knowledge and Research: You will maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all relevant areas of law, researching, analyzing, and appraising relevant sources of law.

• Juris Doctor from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school: You must have a Juris Doctor from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
• Minimum 7 years of experience as a licensed attorney: You must have a minimum of 7 years of experience as a licensed attorney.
• Licensed to practice law in the state of Nebraska or able to qualify for licensing in Nebraska: You must be licensed to practice law in the state of Nebraska or able to qualify for licensing in Nebraska.

• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts: Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts is preferred.
• Experience working with clients in youth care or healthcare related fields: Experience working with clients in youth care or healthcare related fields is preferred.
