Role Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations, the Bilingual Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in managing patient care during appointments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Confirming patient information through interviews and recording medical histories.
  • Preparing patients for examinations by conducting preliminary physical assessments, including vital signs.
  • Assisting physicians with office procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding medical records.
  • Providing patient education by conveying physician's instructions and addressing inquiries regarding procedures.
  • Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards and legal regulations.
  • Managing inventory of medical supplies and placing orders as necessary.
  • Maintaining equipment functionality through regular checks and preventive maintenance.
  • Engaging in professional development by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Upholding professional standards and compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Taking initiative to enhance the practice's reputation through proactive contributions.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Preferred: Two years of experience as a medical assistant.
  • Proficient data entry skills.
  • Recent experience in a similar role is required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Ability to pass background security checks.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to operate office equipment and maintain normal vision and hearing.

Work Environment

The primary work setting is a standard office environment with typical office noise levels.
