About the Role

Collaborative Support Programs, a leading mental health nonprofit agency, is seeking a highly skilled Resource Coordinator to join our team. As a Resource Coordinator, you will play a vital role in assisting members in identifying and accessing various financial, healthcare, educational, and other essential resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess clients' needs and provide information and community referrals, including clothing, food, shelter, rapid housing services, rental assistance, general assistance, and other pertinent resources.
  • Assist clients in completing various applications, such as food stamp, Medicaid, employment applications, applications for medical discounts, public assistance recertification paperwork, and other relevant documents.
  • Oversee the ID program to help members obtain identification documents, including birth certificates, social security cards, marriage licenses, and other essential documents.
  • Stay up-to-date with community resources and ensure seamless access for our members.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED with 1+ years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in a mental health discipline.
  • Knowledge of community resources and how to access them.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with individuals who receive or have received mental health and/or substance abuse services.
  • Willingness to disclose current or prior use of mental health and/or addiction services and speak openly about aspects of their individual recovery.
  • Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
  • Proficient in Excel, MS Office products, and general computer literacy.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Valid NJ Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Lived Experience: Collaborative Support Programs prioritizes hiring individuals who have used their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
