We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Inclusive Education Specialist to become a vital member of our CW Special Education team. This role involves working collaboratively to support early childhood students with diverse learning needs.

Overview:


This position entails professional educational responsibilities, including curriculum adaptation, provision of necessary accommodations, and execution of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for young learners with various disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with parents, educators, and specialists to formulate the IEP for each assigned student.
  • Develop and implement tailored instructional, therapeutic, or skill enhancement programs for students, ensuring lesson plans align with IEP objectives.
  • Educate students across multiple domains, including music, art, language, cognitive skills, health, and organized play, utilizing diverse teaching methodologies.
  • Conduct continuous assessments of student progress through both formal and informal evaluation methods.
  • Provide or oversee personal care and medical assistance for students as outlined in their IEPs.
  • Serve as a positive role model and advocate for the mission of the Chickasaw Nation.
  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes learning and supports the physical, social, and emotional growth of students.
  • Manage student behavior in collaboration with the Special Education Manager and behavioral intervention staff.
  • Consult with classroom teachers regarding student behavior management in accordance with IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Collaborate with the Special Education Manager and Child Wellness team to address the educational, social, medical, and personal needs of students.
  • Assist in selecting educational materials and resources as necessary.
  • Conduct parent conferences to discuss student progress and set individual goals.
  • Participate in organizing and attending field trips, encouraging parental involvement as appropriate.
  • Attend meetings with parents and faculty to discuss student needs and progress.
  • Utilize the child information tracking system as directed.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to the center supervisor or manager.
  • Ensure the safety of students both inside and outside the educational setting.
  • Teach basic vocabulary in the Chickasaw language in collaboration with the Cultural Implementation program.
  • Work with the center supervisor or manager to address any parent concerns or grievances.
  • Report any health and safety concerns regarding students as mandated by law.
  • Responsible for creating and distributing monthly newsletters and calendars to keep families informed.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt standard curriculum to meet the needs of students with special requirements.
  • Deliver lessons according to the guidelines established by the IEP.
  • Employ various instructional techniques and resources to cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Plan and oversee tasks for teacher aides and support staff.
  • Complete 20 hours of professional development annually.
  • Stay informed of and comply with all relevant regulations and policies regarding special education.
  • Maintain a record of parent communications.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience:

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Necessary Credentials:

  • Successful completion of a general background check.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Certification in Special Education.
  • First Aid Certification.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
Work Environment:

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Work primarily in a classroom setting.
  • Occasional light travel may be required.
  • Physical demands include bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, and reaching.
  • May involve lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
