Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Parts Counter Specialist to join our team at AutoNation. As a key member of our Parts Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the efficient operation of our parts inventory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Assist customers in selecting and purchasing required parts, offer special promotions, and ensure customers are aware of our full product line.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain parts bins and shelves in an orderly fashion, ensuring accurate and efficient inventory management.
  • Charge Sales: Ensure all charge sales are signed by customers and present them with the appropriate copy of the invoice.
  • Monthly Returns: Assist in processing monthly parts returns and maintaining accurate records.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on new products and product updates, and provide customers with accurate information.
  • Ordering and Fulfillment: Determine availability and provide necessary information for out-of-stock parts, and secure approval for special and/or emergency orders.
  • Cataloging and Pricing: Assist with the maintenance of the parts catalog, price schedule, and other technical information and bulletins.
  • Repair Orders and Shop Tickets: List and price out parts on repair orders and shop tickets.
  • Administrative Tasks: File Parts Department copies of invoices and purchase orders daily, and obtain time requirements from technicians and Service Advisors to ensure customer time frames are met.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience: Two years of previous parts experience.
  • Technical Skills: 10-Key and/or Alpha-Numeric Data Entry Skills.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information, and a valid Driver's License.
