Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple irrigation construction projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and quality of work.
  • Coordinate with the Irrigation Department Manager for procurement and delivery of irrigation materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Identify job site challenges, proactively recommend solutions, and track project changes for change order requests with the Irrigation Department Manager.
  • Monitor material usage and ensure accurate costing to the appropriate job.
  • Assist with setting up job site logistics, field coordination, and project schedule to optimize labor costs.
  • Manage crew schedules and timecards to optimize labor costs and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure construction equipment, tools, and materials are properly maintained to minimize damage or losses.
  • Recruit, hire, and train laborers and crew leaders to meet project needs.
  • Document and communicate GC/client feedback to the Irrigation Department Manager.
  • Reinforce Big Tree, Inc.'s safety policies and procedures, including compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Commercial irrigation installation experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment and read and understand blueprints and specifications.
  • General knowledge of plant water requirements and irrigation system design.
  • Competent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Very strong organizational and planning skills, with ability to manage changing priorities and workflow.
  • A dedication to learning and improving company standards, procedures, and goals.
  • Willingness to work long hours, including overtime and weekends, and assist with other projects.
  • Committed to continual skill enhancement for top-level industry performance.
  • Good judgment as related to all job functions, with an eye for detail, strong work ethic, punctuality, and ethics.
  • Possess pertinent physical requirements commensurate with the job.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
