Role of the Visual Merchandiser

The Visual Merchandiser plays a crucial role in creating an engaging guest experience by ensuring that visual displays are aligned with the Visual Merchandising Guide (VMG) and are inspiring to customers, ultimately driving sales. This position requires expertise in visual standards, including merchandising techniques, mannequin styling, fixture arrangement, lighting, and In-Store Marketing (ISM) elements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of the company's visual merchandising strategy and standards across all store areas.
  • Ensure compliance with Visual Merchandising Guides (VMG) in partnership with store leaders.
  • Utilize overhead lighting to highlight key merchandising displays.
  • Assess and elevate visual standards in various departments, including Apparel & Accessories, Home, and special promotions.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain visual integrity through ongoing merchandising adjustments.
  • Assist in onboarding and continuous learning initiatives to bridge knowledge and skill gaps.
  • Utilize daily interactions to teach visual standards and inspire team members in creating compelling visual displays.
  • Maintain organization in backroom ISM areas and stay updated on current signing tools and fixtures.
  • Adhere to ethical conduct, safety, and compliance protocols at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as required based on business needs.

Work Environment Expectations

  • Access all areas of the store to address guest or team member concerns.
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks as needed.
  • Interpret various forms of information and instructions.
  • Handle cash register operations accurately when required.
  • Climb ladders as necessary.
  • Safely handle and move merchandise, including lifting items up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Remain mobile throughout the duration of scheduled shifts.
