Springfield Clinic is in search of a Rehabilitation Therapist to join our team.

Position Overview:
The Rehabilitation Therapist is tasked with enhancing the Physical Therapy Specialty service line. This includes the development of clinical protocols, coordination of patient workflows with referring providers, and the planning and implementation of treatment programs. The role also involves monitoring patient progress towards treatment objectives and maintaining direct communication with referring physicians to ensure accountability for service line performance and improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate support to both physicians and patients within a clinical setting tailored to the area of specialization.
- Coordinate patient care beyond the clinic, focusing on rehabilitation needs.

Evaluation Procedures:
- Conduct assessments including range of motion, circumferential measurements, neurological evaluations, and manual muscle testing.
- Analyze evaluation results to determine the extent of impairment and assist in establishing treatment plans.

Treatment Planning:
- Develop treatment programs based on patient complaints, physician referrals, and evaluation outcomes.
- Set realistic goals aimed at alleviating pain, restoring function, and preventing disability.
- Identify contraindications to treatment and recommend necessary adjustments.

Therapeutic Techniques:
- Administer various therapies such as electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, and massage techniques in accordance with established protocols.
- Guide patients in therapeutic exercises to enhance posture, strength, and overall mobility.
- Provide fitting and application of orthotic devices as needed.

Documentation and Communication:
- Maintain thorough documentation of initial evaluations and progress reports.
- Communicate changes in patient conditions to referring physicians as appropriate.
- Ensure accurate completion of charge tickets for services rendered.

Team Collaboration:
- Offer guidance and supervision to Physical Therapy Assistants and other support staff.
- Uphold a professional demeanor and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.
- Licensed by the State of Illinois (PT) and CPR certification as per American Heart Association guidelines.

Preferred Skills:
- Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with techniques such as Kinesiotaping, Graston Technique, and Dry Needling is preferred.

Work Environment:
- The role requires extensive walking, standing, kneeling, and the ability to lift heavy objects.
