Job Overview

As a vital member of the oral surgery team, the Surgical Assistant plays a crucial role in facilitating surgical procedures and ensuring patient safety. This position involves assisting surgeons with precision during operations and maintaining comprehensive documentation of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preoperative preparations and maintain a sterile environment throughout procedures.
  • Engage in discussions with the surgical team regarding patient status and procedural requirements.
  • Utilize advanced dental equipment and obtain essential radiographs to support surgical interventions.
  • Document patient narratives meticulously to ensure accurate records of care.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Licensed Dental Assistant
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BLS Certification (or to be completed within one month of hire)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, demonstrating sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and listening skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.

Preferred:

  • Experience in oral surgery is advantageous.
  • DAANCE certification is a plus.
  • Radiology certification is beneficial.
