Job Summary

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Diagnostic Imaging Services to lead our diagnostic imaging team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for planning and implementing diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services for several departments. Your expertise will ensure efficient and effective departmental operations, and you will oversee cardiovascular clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate administrative, technical, investigative, and clerical operations to assure maximum effectiveness and efficiency of departmental activities.
  • Participate in direct patient care, data reporting and collecting, and develop automated storage for reporting cardiovascular information.
  • Direct clinical research through coordination of studies and performance of information retrieval and manuscript preparation.
  • Provide education and in-services to resident, medical students, fellows, and physicians.
  • Meet JCAHO standards by complying with corporate policy and procedures.
  • Promote teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction and appropriate resource management.
  • Maintain and update policy and procedure manuals for the department.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and evaluate equipment on a periodic basis to provide safe and efficient care and diagnosis for patients.
  • Makes recommendations regarding hire, discipline, and promotion of staff, authorizes leave and overtime, and evaluates employee performance.
  • Establish and continuously assess the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Ensure employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Certification in relevant specialty or field
  • Knowledge of business and management principles
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
