Position: Plant Operations HVAC Technician
The Plant Operations HVAC Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective functioning and upkeep of all facility systems within a cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) environment. This includes overseeing HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, deionized water systems, compressed air systems, fire protection systems, water softeners, generators, dust collection systems, and alarm systems.
Work Schedule: Night Shift

Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts monitoring and maintenance of essential facility systems including boilers, chillers, air handling units, pumps, and HVAC/R units.
- Manages chemical treatment systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Adheres to all cGMP standard operating procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and log maintenance.
- Performs monthly sanitization of systems or as directed by Quality Assurance.
- Handles procurement of parts and manages spare parts inventory effectively.
- Coordinates project work and supervises external contractors, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Oversees annual preventative maintenance inspections and certifications of mechanical systems.
- Fabricates and installs equipment as designed by Engineering or external vendors.
- Provides support for automated manufacturing and packaging machinery as needed.
- Ensures compliance with all company and OSHA safety regulations during job performance.
Qualifications:
- Vocational certificate or degree in HVAC/R or equivalent training is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing setting with a vocational degree, or 12 years of HVAC/R experience without a degree.
- Must possess a Minnesota 2nd Class B license or higher.
- Prior experience in a regulated industry is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Refrigerant Transition and Recovery certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of hazards associated with steam, refrigerants, and treatment chemicals.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints is essential.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with PLC, Servo drives, and VFDs.
- Comprehensive understanding of thermodynamics and related concepts.
