Your Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of specific project scopes assigned to you. Collaborating with field teams, you will ensure that tasks are completed safely, on time, and in accordance with Harder Mechanical's high-quality standards. This entry-level position serves as a stepping stone toward a career in project management.

Daily tasks of a Field Engineer include:

  • Adhering to and promoting Harder's safety protocols
  • Analyzing construction drawings and compiling project scopes and quantities
  • Addressing engineering challenges through effective communication with design engineers and project stakeholders
  • Monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
  • Engaging in planning work sequences
  • Preparing and tracking work packages, including labor and cost assessments
  • Updating project status on a weekly basis
  • Maintaining organized project records within a document control system
  • Estimating future project requirements
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications for Success:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam, with intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong communication abilities across diverse groups, including suppliers and field teams
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Highly organized and efficient
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Commitment to teamwork and client satisfaction
  • Interest in LEAN construction methodologies
  • Willingness to travel for exposure to various markets and industries
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Mechanical aptitude is advantageous
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Mechanical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Previous internship experience in construction or engineering is preferred
