As a Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in promoting the engagement, hope, and full integration of adults with mental health conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and behavioral health challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Peer Support-oriented Treatment Plan interventions with individuals served.
  • Provide support, education, and advocacy, particularly during times of service and life transitions.
  • Engage individuals in non-directive and supportive relationships that promote empowerment and self-learning.
  • Facilitate Peer Support groups as needed.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Lived experience with drug or alcohol misuse/addiction accepted, if applicant has received Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery Coach Academy or equivalent training.
  • Must either obtain or meet one of the following criteria within six months of hire:
  • Certified Peer Specialist.
  • Has received Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery Coach Academy or equivalent training.
  • Meets Family Partner requirements as specified by Community Service Agencies.
