Vinfen is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in promoting the engagement, hope, and full integration of adults with mental health conditions into their communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Peer Support-oriented Treatment Plan interventions with individuals served.
  • Provide support, education, and advocacy to individuals served, particularly during times of service and life transitions.
  • Engage individuals served in non-directive and supportive relationships that promote empowerment and self-learning.
  • Facilitate Peer Support groups as needed.

About Us

Vinfen is a nonprofit, health and human services organization that provides community-based services to individuals with mental health conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and behavioral health challenges.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience as a recipient of services for people with psychiatric conditions preferred; must be well along in own personal recovery.
  • Must either obtain or meet one of the following criteria with six months of hire: Certified Peer Specialist, has received Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery Coach Academy or equivalent training, or meet Family Partner as required by Community Service Agencies specifications.

Please note that a valid driver's license and access to an operational and insured vehicle are required for this position.
