Position Overview:
The Culinary Service Specialist is responsible for providing essential support in food service operations. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the efficient delivery of meals and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization within the dining environment.
Compensation:
Pay Rate: $25 / hour
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to learn and adhere to established protocols.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check.
- Must pass a Pre-employment Physical Exam and a two-step Tuberculin test.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute routine tasks that can be acquired through on-the-job training.
- Follow verbal and written instructions for daily assignments.
- Collaborate closely with the Food Service Supervisor to uphold established standards.
- Manage the storage of food and supplies in designated dining areas, including refrigerators and storage rooms.
- Prepare food items in advance for meal service and assist in assembling snacks for residents.
- Conduct basic food preparation tasks, such as opening canned goods and preparing simple meals.
- Set up and maintain the tray line for meal assembly, ensuring all necessary items are in place.
- Assemble and serve meals according to menu specifications and resident preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing kitchen equipment, dining areas, and food service utensils.
- Dispose of waste and manage soiled linens appropriately.
- Transport food and supplies as needed throughout the facility.
Additional Duties:
- Assist in unloading food delivery trucks and stocking supplies in kitchens and storage areas.
- Prepare and present food items for service, including desserts and salads.
- Ensure proper sanitation of all food preparation areas and equipment.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with supervisors regarding any workplace issues.
General Expectations:
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the organization.
