As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing diagnostic medical sonograms using complex ultrasound equipment and transducers. Under indirect supervision, you will work with a variety of patients, including those requiring abdominal and OB/Gynecology ultrasound examinations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic medical sonograms with precision and accuracy, utilizing complex ultrasound equipment and transducers.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other clinicians to clarify orders and ensure accurate diagnoses.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of ultrasound technology and its applications in medical imaging.
- Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring a positive experience for all patients.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in ultrasound technology and best practices in medical imaging.
- Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited ultrasound program or a graduate from a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with current ARDMS certification.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
- Basic Life Support within 4 months of hire.
- Competency in components of sonography, including routine abdomen, abdomen doppler, small parts, thyroid, and obstetrics/gynecology.
- Two (2) years experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a major medical center.
- Experience with Acuson Sequoia, Philips iu-22, and Clickview ultrasound reporting package.
