Job Description

Highmark Health is seeking a highly skilled VP of Insurance Product Strategy and Design to lead the development of innovative insurance products that meet the evolving needs of a highly regulated and competitive marketplace.

The successful candidate will oversee product strategy, innovation, portfolio management, and the development of necessary implementation roadmaps, and product performance evaluation across Federal Markets, ACA/individual, DSNP, small group, large regional, and national accounts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a clear multi-year product strategy across existing segments and new geographies, taking into account market trends, customer needs, and Highmark's enterprise strategy.
  • Driving product innovation by actively monitoring market developments and implementing new product innovations, such as new benefit design structures and enhanced member communications.
  • Oversight of product design and implementation, including direct oversight of the team responsible for delivering the product strategic roadmap.
  • Product performance evaluation, including developing targets for product performance and assessing performance against membership and financial targets.
  • Product capability management, including developing a detailed multi-year roadmap of supporting capabilities needed to deliver our medical products to customers and clinicians across Highmark Health.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Product Management/Design, Healthcare Management, Management Information Science, or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in healthcare strategy and execution/solution delivery.
  • 10 years of experience with deep breadth and depth of business knowledge across relevant functions in healthcare or similarly regulated product industry.
  • 7 years in a leadership role, with demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organizational environment.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Product Management/Design, Healthcare Management, Management Information Science, or related field, as well as experience managing complex initiatives in the consulting, healthcare, or insurance industry.
