Restaurant Server Job Description

At Grand Bohemian Mountain Brook, we are seeking a skilled Restaurant Server to join our team. As a Restaurant Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service and ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide warm and friendly service to internal and external guests
  • Operate the telephone system and maintain confidentiality of guest information
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, beer, liquor, and wine
  • Clear and reset counters or tables after each course
  • Assist dining room servers with food and beverage service
  • Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food and beverage
  • Explain, pair, and recommend wine from the wine list
  • Serve food and beverage in a genuine, friendly, professional, and efficient manner
  • Relay orders to the kitchen through POS and help serve courses from kitchen and service bars
  • Total bill and accept payment
  • Utilize property management systems and follow cash handling procedures
Requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED degree, or related training equivalent
  • 1+ year of relevant work experience in a similar scope and title
  • Experience within luxury brand/markets
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Work Environment:

Must be comfortable working in a shared space with constant noise and without a private office. Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism, and collaboration.

Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of or less than 40 hours with or without notice.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to see, hear, reach, use fingers to handle and feel, and stand and walk up to 8 hours daily.

Push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to travel by foot, car, bus, airplane, or other means of transportation, which require sitting, waiting, and standing for long and short periods of time.
