About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Exterior Design Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Co. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with multiple divisions to design exterior components and systems that meet the optimal balance of vehicle performance, safety, reliability, profitability, and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create 3D layouts and 2D drawings using CATIA to design exterior components and systems.
  • Correlate and negotiate with internal Honda contacts, including design, test, and purchasing departments.
  • Lead part design with suppliers, managing schedules, setting design targets, and confirming prospects to achieve requirements.
  • Collaborate with styling teams to set feasible directions and fix final designs.
  • Support part and vehicle verification, developing countermeasures when necessary.
  • Estimate and manage part cost, including review of supplier quotes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 0-6 years of experience based on education.
  • CATIA or other 3D CAD software skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
