Job Summary:
The University of California, Irvine is seeking a skilled Admitting Worker to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients in our ambulatory clinics, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth registration process.
Responsibilities:
- Enter patient data into the registration system and verify insurance and/or third-party coverage
- Schedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments
- Perform general clerical and reception duties
Qualifications:
- Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Must be able to work weekends/holidays
- Demonstrated experience using office equipment, multi-line telephone systems, and computers
- Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and insurance programs
- Demonstrated experience working in registration, scheduling, and/or authorization processes
- Demonstrated experience working in a hospital or medical office setting
