Employment Type: Full-time and Part-time opportunities available

The Speech-Language Pathologist plays a crucial role in delivering speech and language services to patients. The responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients' communication abilities, oral-motor skills, cognitive functions, memory, problem-solving capabilities, hearing, and speech fluency.
  • Evaluating the home environment when necessary and determining equipment needs related to speech and language functionality.
  • Identifying speech impairments and developing a coordinated care plan with the physician to address various communication disorders.
  • Implementing speech therapy programs using specialized techniques and equipment.
  • Educating patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members about their roles in the therapy process.
  • Recommending appropriate communication devices and aids as needed.
  • Suggesting hearing evaluations by an audiologist when necessary.
  • Preparing and submitting clinical progress notes based on goal achievement.
  • Instructing patients, families, and healthcare personnel on treatment protocols.
  • Performing additional duties as required to ensure effective delivery of speech-language pathology services.
  • Identifying needs for additional services and making appropriate referrals.
  • Adhering to professional standards and maintaining clinical competency in speech-language pathology.
  • Completing other assigned tasks as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology.
  • Degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
  • Current licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist in the relevant state.
  • Preferred: One year of professional experience in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation in Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR certification if applicable.
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray as required.
  • Current Health certificate as per contract or state regulations.
  • Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to the job site.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English.
  • Computer proficiency is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
