Job Summary

As a Speech Pathologist Teacher with Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES, you will work cooperatively with school personnel and the local education agency to provide services that hold the well-being of each student paramount. Your role will involve collaborating with school personnel, such as teachers and psychologists, to best meet the needs of all students. You will maintain records of the speech-language program and prepare periodic reports as required. Additionally, you will demonstrate knowledge of federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and laws.

Responsibilities

Administer Speech/Language assessments according to acceptable procedures.
Analyze and interpret information to make recommendations regarding the need for speech-language services.
Present and explain data to IEP Team.
Prepare evaluation summary.
Present information to school personnel about language disorders as they relate to literacy and interactive communication skills.
Plan evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students and groups of students.
Provide activities commensurate with students' interests and aptitudes.
Select/implement evidence-based practices which support the goals and objectives of the speech-language program.
Adjust intervention strategies based upon student performance.
Promote effective interpersonal relations with students.
Develop appropriate IEPs based on students' strengths and needs.
Provide and follow schedules for assigned schools and inform appropriate personnel of departures from schedule.
Engage in continuing education and professional growth activities related to speech-language and education.
Assume any other duties assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.

Requirements

Certified - Teaching - Speech-Language Pathologist
Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and laws
Ability to work cooperatively with school personnel and the local education agency
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain records and prepare reports as required
Ability to engage in continuing education and professional growth activities

Working Conditions

This is an itinerant position with a .8 out of district and .2 Truman/.5 Truman and .5 MRES location.
