Postpartum Registered Nurse PRN Opportunity

Laredo Medical Center's Mother/Baby unit is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to join our team in the postpartum department. This is a fast-paced environment where you will have opportunities to cross-train and float to other women's services with experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate assigned patients and develop individualized care plans
  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
  • Perform various patient tests and administer medications within the scope of practice
  • Promote patients' independence by teaching self-care skills and providing education on conditions and medications
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program
  • Licensed as a R.N. by the Texas State Board of Registered Nurse Examiners
  • BLS within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS, NRP, and Basic fetal monitoring certifications (some may be completed within the first 90 days of hire)
  • Postpartum experience
  • Letter of recommendation preferred for applicants with less than 1 year of applicable experience in nursing
