Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and trustworthy Security Guard to join our team at Elsewhere Brooklyn.


Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for patrons, staff, and artists by monitoring behavior and enforcing club rules.
  • Remove any obnoxious or offensive individuals while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Work closely with the security team to control overcrowding, prevent fights, and deter disorderly conduct.
  • Validate identification at the door and delegate duties to other security personnel as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a valid New York State Security Guard License and experience in hospitality/nightlife is a plus.


Requirements
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced nightlife setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team setting and communicate effectively with management and security supervisors.
  • Familiarity with deescalation tools and techniques.
  • Ability to respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, CPR, or support as needed.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overnights.
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential.
  • Must be physically and mentally fit to perform job duties.
  • Valid New York State Security Guard License required.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly starting rate: $20-$25 per hour depending on experience.
  • Commuter benefits available.
  • Accrued vacation leave.
