Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Auto Physical Damage Claim Representative Trainee to join our National Hub team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving claims on losses of lesser value and complexity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete required training program, which includes online, virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training, with a focus on developing skills for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving claims.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions for the inside auto business and work closely with Unit Managers or mentors to promptly resolve assigned claims.
  • Deliver consistent service quality throughout the claim life cycle, including prompt contact, explaining the process, setting expectations, ongoing communication, follows-through, and meeting commitments to achieve optimal outcomes on every file.
  • Review and analyze coverage and apply policy conditions, provisions, exclusions, and endorsements for Auto Damage only claims in assigned jurisdictions.
  • Investigate each claim to obtain relevant facts necessary to determine coverage, causation, extent of liability, damages, contribution potential, and exposure, taking recorded statements as necessary.
  • Recognize and request appropriate inspection types based on the details of the loss and coordinate the appraisal process, maintaining oversight of the repair process and ensuring appropriate expense handling.
  • Refer claims beyond authority as appropriate based on exposure and established guidelines, recognizing and forwarding appropriate files to subject matter experts.
  • Establish timely and maintain appropriate claim and expense reserves, managing file inventory and expense reserves by utilizing an effective diary system, documenting claim file activities to resolve claims in a timely manner.
  • Determine settlement amounts based on appraisal estimates, negotiate and convey claim settlements within authority limits to insureds and claimants, writing denial letters, Reservation of Rights, and other necessary correspondence as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or a minimum of 2 years of work or customer service-related experience.
  • Demonstrated ownership attitude and customer-centric response to all assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail ensuring accuracy.
  • Keyboard skills and Windows proficiency, including Excel and Word.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and judgment/decision-making skills.
