Auto Physical Damage Claim Representative Trainee – National HUB

At Travelers, we're committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers and communities. As an Auto Physical Damage Claim Representative Trainee, you'll play a critical role in helping us achieve this goal.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in a comprehensive training program to develop skills in investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving claims on losses of lesser value and complexity.
- Work closely with Unit Managers or mentors to promptly resolve assigned claims.
- Deliver consistent service quality throughout the claim life cycle, including prompt contact, explaining the process, setting expectations, ongoing communication, follows-through, and meeting commitments to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Review and analyze coverage, apply policy conditions, provisions, exclusions, and endorsements for Auto Damage only claims in assigned jurisdictions.
- Investigate each claim to obtain relevant facts necessary to determine coverage, causation, extent of liability, establishment of negligence, damages, contribution potential, and exposure.
- Recognize and request appropriate inspection types based on loss details and coordinate the appraisal process.
- Establish timely and maintain appropriate claim and expense reserves, manage file inventory, and document claim file activities to resolve claims in a timely manner.
- Determine settlement amounts based on appraisal estimates, negotiate and convey claim settlements within authority limits to insureds and claimants.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred or a minimum of 2 years of work or customer service-related experience.
- Demonstrated ownership attitude and customer-centric response to all assigned tasks.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
- Attention to detail ensuring accuracy.
- Keyboard skills and Windows proficiency, including Excel and Word.

- Analytical thinking and judgment/decision-making skills.
