Job Title: Youth Prevention Specialist

Salary: Estimated annual salary: $55,000 - $70,000 based on location and experience

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Prevention Services Department, you will be responsible for delivering prevention education and skills training to children and teens in assigned schools. Your passion for making a difference in the lives of students will drive your success in this role.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Engage & Educate: Deliver fun, curriculum-based prevention education and skills training for children and teens in your assigned schools.
  • Plan Awesome Activities: Coordinate and implement exciting community and school-based alternative activities for youth, including our legendary FBRC summer programs.
  • Assess & Assist: Conduct risk and protective factor assessments, create service plans, offer counseling/referrals, and provide thorough follow-ups.
  • Connect & Refer: Provide spot-on referrals to mental health or social service agencies and other community services.
  • Keep Things on Track: Ensure all paperwork, record-keeping, and statistical data related to service provision are accurate and timely.
  • Present & Inspire: Conduct dynamic prevention presentations in schools and the community, sparking inspiration and awareness.
  • Community Involvement: Stay active in community coalitions, making a real difference in collaboration with the Prevention Director.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) or Associate Prevention Specialist (APS) designation, or a commitment to start earning it immediately with 18 months.
  • A passion for making a difference in the lives of children and teens.
  • Stellar organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a vibrant team.
  • Experience working with youth is a plus.
  • Knowledge of community resources and referral processes.
