Position Overview

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist to join a prominent laboratory focused on genomic and epigenomic research. This role is pivotal in advancing our understanding of gene regulation and chromatin dynamics in mammalian systems.

Research Focus

The laboratory's research initiatives emphasize the development of innovative computational techniques tailored for high-throughput genomic methodologies. The integration of computational and experimental strategies is central to our exploration of chromatin structure and gene expression in relation to human health.

Current Projects
  • Statistical modeling and machine learning approaches for predicting transcriptional regulation from diverse omics datasets.
  • Algorithm development for analyzing single-cell epigenomic and spatial multi-omics data.
  • Investigating transcriptional regulation and chromatin biology through both computational and experimental lenses.
  • Exploring the roles of epigenetics and transcriptional mechanisms in T-cell immunity and oncogenesis.

Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biological or biomedical sciences is required.

  • A minimum of one peer-reviewed publication as a lead author is required.
  • Familiarity with cell culture and high-throughput genomic techniques, including RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, and CRISPR, is advantageous.
  • A commitment to collaborative research and an understanding of the interplay between computational and experimental work is preferred.
