Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Teradyne. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities- Perform regular maintenance tasks, including inspections, adjustments, and replacements, on mechanical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures, diagnose issues, and conduct repairs on machinery and equipment.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete tasks effectively.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to avoid equipment failures and extend lifespan.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify potential issues before they become critical.
- Provide technical support and guidance to our on-site staff and other maintenance personnel when applicable.
- Assist with the installation, relocation or support of equipment when requested by department heads.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Update maintenance logs and reports as required.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and efficiency.
- Work closely with other maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors to coordinate and execute repairs and upgrades.
- Respond to emergencies, including but not limited to; structural problems, equipment failures, plumbing and electrical issues, fire alarms, and power failures at all hours, in a timely manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in mechanical maintenance or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related role, with a proven track record of handling complex maintenance tasks.
- Extensive experience with mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals and blueprints.
- Ability to operate and maintain various hand and power tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
This role involves working out of our San Jose facility and supporting our Sunnyvale and North San Jose office locations as needed. A car is required for this position.
