About the Role

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Educator to join our team. As a key member of our nursing education team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive education programs for nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify educational and resource-related needs for nursing staff.
  • Develop and implement competency-based orientation programs for all staff.
  • Train staff on unit-specific equipment, computer software applications, and other technology.
  • Participate in the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational and clinical technologies.
  • Evaluate and participate in purchasing teaching materials and new technologies that optimize learning and clinical practice.
  • Develop and implement continuing education programs for registered nurses using the American Nurses Credentialing Center criteria.
  • Serve as an American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Instructor and provide training for all staff.
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Director in planning, implementing, and evaluating unit-specific education programs and staff competencies.
  • Promote an environment that fosters creative thinking, new ideas, professional growth, adult learning, open communication, and collaborative relationships.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to staff as needed.
  • Use QI data to determine staff competency needs and improve patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor's degree in Nursing, and Master's degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years current clinical experience in medical/surgical specialty required.
  • Cardiac/Telemetry experience required.
  • Prior critical care experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and conflict management skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to use evidence to develop, teach, guide, and implement practice standards and policies required.
  • Prior educational/teaching experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and other computer skills required.
  • CPR training required, ACLS/BLS required.
