Storekeeper II

As a Storekeeper II at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, materials, and supplies. You will be responsible for receiving and inspecting incoming goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, and issuing supplies to users in accordance with established procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and inspect incoming goods, verifying quality, quantity, and condition
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking stock levels and reconciling discrepancies
- Issue supplies to users in accordance with established procedures
- Perform physical inventory counts to determine actual stock levels
- Assist in maintaining a safe and organized work environment
- Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver's License
- High school diploma or equivalent, or two years of experience in receiving, storing, and issuing functions
- Knowledge of storekeeping methods and practices, including handling equipment and operating material handling equipment
- Ability to work accurately with names, numbers, codes, and symbols
- Physical ability to handle bulky or heavy stock items, equipment, and supplies
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent lifting, bending, and standing. You must be comfortable working in a walk-in freezer and/or refrigerator, and may be exposed to chemicals, gases, fumes, and temperature extremes.
This is a 40-hour per week position, with varied shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays. The University of Massachusetts Amherst is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
