Radiation Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our team at UNM Medical Group, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality radiation therapy to patients with cancer, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Administer prescribed and planned courses of radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist.
- Follow the radiation safety principle of as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) for patients, self, and others.
- Verify treatment plans are consistent with prescriptions and can be accurately implemented in the treatment room.
- Educate patients on potential side effects of radiation treatment and how to manage associated side effects.
- Reinforce recommendations given to patients by physicians, dietitians, or other care providers concerning reaction to treatment and care of irradiated areas.
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- State of New Mexico Licensed Radiation Therapist.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technology License.
- CPR Certified.
- Completed degree from an accredited institution that meets the minimum education requirement.
