Seasonal Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team at St. David's Medical Center. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory therapy, with experience in acute care settings. You will be responsible for performing diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, monitoring patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, and assisting with placement of artificial airways.

Responsibilities:
- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways.
- Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response.
- Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
- Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
Requirements:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
- RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) certification.
- Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
