About the Role

The Host/Hostess is a vital part of our team, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they feel valued and cared for throughout their dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a consistent and attentive presence at the entrance of the restaurant, greeting guests with a smile and a friendly greeting.
  • Record customer reservations or seating times in a consistent manner, providing exceptional service to our guests at all times.
  • Maintain and update restaurant seating charts to ensure efficient seating and minimize wait times.
  • Properly set up and maintain the Dining Room areas before serving, ensuring a clean and inviting environment for our guests.
  • Assist with maintaining sufficient stock of roll-up silverware for the incoming shift.
  • Seat guests and advise them on menus and beverage choices based on in-depth knowledge of our offerings.
  • Oversee the delivery and servicing of food and beverages, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests.
  • Liaise between kitchen staff and floor staff to ensure our guests' experience meets our concept and company standards.
  • Perform tasks of the cashier and/or bus person as required, including cashing out guests' checks to speed up service.
  • Understand and follow our cash handling policies and procedures, maintaining proper security of cash at all times.
  • Patroil assigned station, refilling water and coffee, removing service items and condiments per establishment procedures.
  • Perform other duties in a team effort during downtime, which may include rolling silverware, expediting food orders, washing dishes, preparing food for the To-go areas, and properly cleaning and filling table condiments.

Requirements

  • Customer service and cash handling experience preferred.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret restaurant seating charts.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
  • Requires the ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers.
