Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Engineer to join our team at ADVANTEDGE TECHNOLOGY, INC. as a Gas Turbine Electrical Technician on the Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS) in San Diego, California.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the SDTS as a GSE (Gas Turbine Electrical Technician) with a minimum of 8 years' experience working in a comparable field or 10-12 years' experience as a Navy GSE.
  • Utilize test equipment for troubleshooting and read engineering drawings to ensure efficient maintenance.
  • Work independently to complete onboard maintenance requirements and mentor subordinates.
  • Read and understand EOSS procedures and troubleshoot electrical equipment to determine root cause failure modes.
  • Support overnight underway evolutions, including regular housekeeping and cleaning.
  • Take log readings and stand underway watches.
  • Have basic computer Microsoft Office skills and a valid driver's license with own transportation.
  • Pass a background check and work under minimal supervision.
  • Write, speak, and understand English and write clear, detailed reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EOOW, PACC, or EPCC Qualifications.
  • Experience and competence in US Navy Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
  • Knowledge of LM2500 Gas Turbine propulsion systems and Allison 501 K-17/34 Gas Turbine Generators and their associated support and auxiliary systems.
  • GSE "C" School.
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Climb up and down shipboard vertical ladders.
  • Lift 50 pounds.
  • Pass Shipboard Fire Party School.
  • Get underway to support mission operations.
