Job Summary

The County of San Diego is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Airport Operations Coordinator. This role will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising airside and landside operations at the County's airports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor airport operations for compliance with federal, state, and local laws
  • Issue NOTAMs for surface closures and condition reporting as appropriate
  • Mitigate wildlife hazards
  • Respond to emergencies and assist with the coordination of emergency activities
  • Review and act on matters involving safety, security, customer service, certification, and other related matters
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in airport/aviation management or a closely related field
  • Two (2) years of full-time experience at an airport performing airport operations or airport management duties
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in airport/aviation management or a closely related field
  • Four (4) years of full-time experience at an airport performing airport operations or airport management duties
