Key Responsibilities of a Server at SSP America:
  • Provide knowledgeable responses and recommendations concerning menu items, beverages, and services offered
  • Efficiently enter orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system
  • Assist in food preparation for service, including tasks such as ladling soup, tossing salads, slicing desserts, and brewing coffee
  • Monitor guests to foresee their needs and address any further requests
  • Remove all dishes from tables
  • Ensure accurate balancing and reconciliation of all assigned open and closed checks by totaling bills and processing payments
  • Reset tables or counters after each course
  • Perform additional tasks as required
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a food service setting
  • High school diploma is preferred
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English are essential
  • Experience in resolving customer service issues
  • Basic math skills necessary for operating a cash register, making change, totaling guest checks, counting cash, and preparing cash drops
  • Food handler's permit, as mandated by law
  • Ability to stand and work in limited spaces for extended periods
